Summer Strings Programs announced

Two summer programs led by OYOA's own Brigitte Amyot just announced. Registrations are on-going beginning now.

STRINGS ENSEMBLES WORKSHOP (limited places)
Three ensembles: Primary, Junior, Intermediates-Senior
DATES: July 10 To 14
HOURS: 9am-3:30pm
FEE: $300
WHERE: 284 Boulevard Riel, Gatineau, J8Z 1A9
This Workshop is for students age 6 to 15 years old. (age is a guideline) We will of course play lots of music, do a bit of composition and will have some time to go to the park and also paint or do some art projects. Everybody will have pauses outside and lunch will be outside if possible. Minimum age is 6 years old for Primary Strings level. This workshop helps to develop sight reading, technique and ensemble playing skills.

STRING ORCHESTRA WORKSHOP
DATES: July 17 To 21
HOURS: 9am-3:30pm
FEE: $300
WHERE: The location is to be confirmed but it will be in the same general area as Philemon-Wright school in Gatineau. This workshop is based on The More Strings The Merrier group. It’s a mixed level group and is composed of students of all ages including adults. The balance is quite good in the different age groups. This year we will have Aidan with us to do a few sessions with the cellists. Young people will have some time to go to the park and also paint or do some art projects. Everybody will have pauses outside and lunch will be outside if possible. Minimum age is 8 years old and Intermediate Strings level. This Workshop helps to develop sight reading, technique and ensemble playing skills.
