We are pleased to announce the finalists for our Concerto Competition which will take place on November 5th, 2023, Freiman Hall, at the University of Ottawa at 5pm (430pm – doors). Adjudicators will announce winners at the end of the competition and the top soloist(s) will be invited to play their selection at the February, Ottawa Youth Symphony Orchestra Concert. The finalists include:
- Nabeel Ansari — Mozart Oboe Concerto #1, first movement
- Philippe Lafleur — Mozart Violin Concerto #3, first movement
- Cal McGowan — Saint-Saens Cello Concerto #1, third movement
- Claire Qiu — Mendelssohn Violin Concerto, first movement
- Grace Van Der Sloot — Walton Viola Concerto, first movement
We hope you will attend the performance to support these finalists, all of whom are extremely talented musicians!
